EVENT DESCRIPTION
After Mark Brights fireworks are over and there is smoke in the air, we will build up more smoke using a fogger. Synchronised to music from the Stellarphonic Orchestra, a full colour LASER show will gently start appearing over and around the viewers after this. It will build in strength and motion to a crescendo over a period of about 8-10mins.
After the show, gentle and interesting patterns will be projected on the 4m wide hanging screen. Sponsors will be displayed at intervals during these projections.

PAST EVENTS
Mary Valley Festival Australia 2008 - First solar powered LASER event.

The air was clear and warm and the stars were out in force! People quietly sat on a football field with camp chairs and rugs, sipping a glass of whine or Champaign.
The music from the Stellarphonic Orchestra put everyone into a dream state as the SOLAR powered LASER show filled the sky.
Around 2000 watts per hour of SOLAR energy were kindly provided by Klaus Langner of LATRONICS Coloundra Australia, to power the show. Klaus inspired all at the event beyond expectation by actually driving (1hr) to the event using his SOLAR powered vehicle! A true Eco devotee. Thanks Klaus!

A fire making a cloud of smoke for the LASER...

LASER in the smoke to a stellar backdrop...

And to think that this show was powered by the sun!
Interesting info:
One day of Solar energy hitting Australia, if captured without loss, could power the planet for 30 years!
Technology has now advanced to the level where SOLAR energy can be captured with near 100% efficiency in compact thermal cells. Upon the release of the energy, these cells provide 500 deg C heat as well as -10 Deg C cold. This raw energy can be used for all kinds of thermal processes which include powering heat driven Stirling engines, thermal process in factories, air conditioning, water heating, home heating, cooking and much more. Info link.
Modern Stirling engines can now make electricity with efficiencies equal to or higher than classic power stations. Best of all, this technology is safe, requires very little maintenance and is simple to build.
The dream of cars being powered by Stirling engines is now a reality, due to the fact that these engines now have the same power, weight, size relationship as a regular combustion engine.
So here's to SOLAR ENERGY!
Special thanks to Kaili Parker-Price for coordinating the event, Birgit Kehr for the photos, Peter Man for the LASER system, Bruno Kempter for the communication equipment, the local fire team for the fire event and all the staff who helped make the event a success.
